What do the team do?

The Audit & Assurance team predominately undertake audit and other assurance work on behalf of our clients, however, they are also responsible for accounts preparation and tax computations too. We have audit clients across a range of sectors around the UK, from smaller not-for-profit organisations to entrepreneurial SME's and through to large listed groups. No job is the same and we can guarantee variety, plus the opportunity to learn from a range of talented people, no matter your level.

Our specialist Not-for-Profit team regularly features in the Charity Finance magazine's annual Top 5 for both Expertise and Best Service, as voted for by clients. It is a fast growing team that from our various offices works with over 400 clients across the UK, with a strong focus on charities of various kinds (small through to those with a national and international element).

 

What will I be doing?

As an Audit & Assurance Semi Senior you will have ownership of the following tasks:

  • Assisting with the planning of moderate sized audit engagements and leading onsite teams.
  • Supporting on larger audits, completing allocated sections and assisting in-charge with conclusions.
  • Preparing accounts when required.
  • Liaising with clients to resolve any queries, escalating more complex matters to assignment leader.
  • Reviewing team members' work before passing completed file to appropriate assignment leader.
  • Coaching and providing feedback to juniors on the quality of their work and performance.
  • Controlling assignment time in line with pre-determined budget.

What experience do I need?

Whilst having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:

  • Studying towards an ACA, ICAS, CA or ACCA qualification (minimum criteria).
  • Experience of undertaking statutory Not-for-Profit and Charity audits in an accountancy practice in the UK (minimum criteria).
  • Proven experience leading client-facing audit engagements.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS 102/SORP.
  • Proficiency in audit software (experience of Inflo would be advantageous), Alphatax and DataSnipper.
