What did you do before joining Price Bailey?

I was a technical consultant for ICAEW, having come to that role via two stints in public practice, one in financial training and a deep dive into ethics and economic crime policy.

Tell us about what your role involves

About as varied a role as I’ve ever had. Keeping the firm compliant involves training, guidance, technical consultations, file reviews, reviews into key areas of the firm’s business for our regulator (ICAEW), complaints handling, some difficult conversations and lots of delightful conversations.

What one thing do you like most about working at Price Bailey?

Apart from the variety I like the people. It’s a genuine pleasure to help teams with the issues they are facing.

How do you make our Smart Working policy work for you?

I have my youngest daughter for a couple of night’s midweek so the flexibility offered by Smart Working is invaluable at the end of the day when she needs ferrying and food!

What did you do before joining Price Bailey?

After completing an Executive Secretarial Studies Degree in Barcelona - where I am from, I worked as an administrator in the Private Sector for a few years and then in the Cosmetic Industry as a Project Development Assistant. I then decided to move to the UK with my partner and I joined Price Bailey! That was over 6 years ago (in May 2016) and this is still my first ever job in the UK.

Tell us about what your role involves

I started as a Senior Administrator and now I am the Tax Support Team Leader. My role now involves taking care of the Tax Support staff and making sure the Tax Department gets the best support service and to add value wherever I can.

What one thing do you like most about working at Price Bailey?

What I like the most about working at Price Bailey is the endless possibilities to evolve and develop. I have been able to do what I am passionate about which is to improve processes, solve problems, detect what needs to be done and take action! All in all to be heard and valued.

I have the chance to work from where I feel is best for me and to have a healthy work/life balance.

What did you do before joining Price Bailey?

Before joining Price Bailey, I worked part time as a tutor and attended university at City University of London. Additionally, I also had previous experience of working at Price Bailey as a placement student and was thankful for the opportunity to return upon completing my degree.

Tell us about what your role involves

As a trainee in the Audit team my role involves working in teams and supporting the seniors on audit engagements to meet given deadlines.

What one thing do you like most about working at Price Bailey?

One of the things I most enjoy about Price Bailey is the trust that the managers/partners have in everyone to be able to work flexibly, and have enough trust that we will still be able to meet the deadlines and get the work completed as and when it should be.

Smart Working is a policy that really drew me back into coming back to Price Bailey as it allows you to work around your own schedule and provides for a great work life balance.

I would strongly advise on applying if you plan on working in an accountancy practice. PB provides the most flexible working options when it comes to practice, and it is a great place for personal development and exposure to different sectors.

What did you do before joining Price Bailey?

Before joining Price Bailey in 2023, I worked in a another practice for 8 years where I achieved my ACCA qualification.

I am an Accounts Manager in the Business Team at Price Bailey. I have a varied portfolio of clients, the majority of which are SME’s and owner managed businesses along with personal tax clients. My role is not only to provide year end accounts work but support throughout the year.

What one thing do you like most about working at Price Bailey?

The people! From the day I joined everyone has been so welcoming, I have a great support network at Price Bailey full of knowledgeable people, all willing to help. This has enabled me to grow my knowledge and continue to learn and develop on my career path.

How do you make our Smart Working policy work for you?

For me, it means I can spend valuable time with my family and friends when they need me, enabling me to enjoy moments I would usually miss if I worked a structured 9 - 5. It also builds a trust between myself and Price Bailey, allowing me to complete my work and take time away when needed.

Finally, what advice would you give to anybody thinking of applying to work here?

Without a doubt, apply! Before I joined, I was very nervous, worrying about fitting in with a new firm after being at my old job for so long. Now I’m at Price Bailey, I know I had nothing to worry about. They are a company that really implements its values.

What did you do before joining Price Bailey?

After completing my degree, I spent five years working as an outsourced internal auditor and financial consultant in the education sector.

I deliver internal audit and assurance engagements, primarily across the education sector and other non-profit organisations. I work closely with clients to assess governance, risk management and compliance arrangements, provide practical recommendations, and support continuous improvement.

What one thing do you like most about working at Price Bailey?

I value the trust I’m given to manage my own workload and work flexibly, while also knowing there’s strong support available both within my team and across the wider firm whenever it’s needed.

I’d encourage anyone thinking of applying to come with a willingness to learn and get involved. You’re trusted to take responsibility, but equally supported, and ideas are genuinely listened to at all levels, which makes it a rewarding place to build confidence and develop over time.

What did you do before joining Price Bailey?

Before joining Price Bailey in September 2020, I worked at a local firm for a year after completing my A-Levels in 2019. I started my AAT qualification there and went on to complete it at Price Bailey, where I also achieved my ACCA qualification.

In my role within the Outsourcing team, I work with a diverse range of clients, focusing on preparing and reviewing management accounts and VAT returns, and reviewing bookkeeping practices.

What one thing do you like most about working at Price Bailey?

The best part about working at Price Bailey is the people. I’m fortunate to be in a sociable and supportive team that has greatly assisted me in both my work and my studies.

How do you make our Smart Working policy work for you?

I balance my work and football commitments by utilising the Smart Working policy. It allows me to adjust my hours so I can finish work early to make it to my games on time.

Finally, what advice would you give to anybody thinking of applying to work here?

My advice for anyone considering applying is to explore the different departments at Price Bailey and find where your interests lie. Also, be sure to understand the requirements for your qualification and the commitment needed for your studies.

What did you do before joining Price Bailey?

I was studying for a PhD in fluid mechanics, modelling free-surface flows over submerged obstruction, at the University of East Anglia in Norwich.

Tell us about what your role involves

My work is pre-dominantly providing tax advice (but I also have a few compliance clients), and I am a bit of a generalist able to advise on a number of different taxes. My main focus is providing tax advice on corporate reconstructions, including company sales and acquisitions, corporate demergers (and mergers), management buy-outs etc. I also work on a number of Price Bailey’s larger R&D claims and undertake a number VAT reviews for various clients.

What one thing do you like most about working at Price Bailey?

The variety of work that I get to be involved in. No day is the same and no task is the same, so I’m always learning new things, getting to research and explore complex parts of the legislation and help clients in a wide variety of situations.

How do you make our Smart Working policy work for you?

I’m an early riser and am at my best in the mornings. I therefore like the fact that if I do start early, I have the flexibility to potentially take a long lunch or go for a walk to clear my mind during the day so that I can come back refreshed. I also like the variety of being able to work from home where I can really get my head down on a complex task, but equally I like being able to go into the office and work more closely with the team.

Come and talk to us. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about the different roles available to determine what suits you best. There are lots of opportunities for growth and success at Price Bailey - it can be a great career move or, as in my case, a great way to start your professional career.

What did you do before joining Price Bailey?

I spent 10 years working in sales across estate agency and recruitment. Both roles focused heavily on identifying and developing new business opportunities and building long-lasting client relationships, skills that have transferred naturally into my role at Price Bailey.

I work closely with Partners and Managers to help drive growth across the firm’s audit services and sector specialisms.

What one thing do you like most about working at Price Bailey?

I really enjoy working in an industry that’s constantly evolving, but most importantly being part of a firm that genuinely values its people and the clients they work with.

Before applying, I was apprehensive about moving into a new industry and adjusting to a different culture.
