What do the team do?

The team oversee all financial and accounting operations within the business, ensuring all financial transactions and reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with statutory regulations.

The role of a Management Accountant involves working independently with minimal supervision, managing workload to meet deadlines, delegating tasks to junior staff, and communicating professionally with colleagues and contacts. The work includes preparing company and subsidiary management accounts to trial balance, reviewing nominal transactions and maintaining lead schedules, preparing VAT returns and other regulatory returns and financial information.

 

What will I be doing?

As a Management Accountant you will have ownership of the following tasks: 

  • Showing a reliably high level of competence in maintaining accounting records and producing accounts up to a trial balance position. Including demonstrating thoroughness in carrying out analytical review of accounts.
  • Displaying and apply in-depth knowledge in preparing VAT returns.
  • Producing detailed and insightful management reports for departments, checking own work to ensure the accounts are accurate and to reduce required review time.
  • Adhering to compliance procedures: i.e., follows instructions, makes clear notes and follows outlined procedures.
  • Overseeing the purchase ledger function, including the completion of regular reviews of the ledger and nominal review.
  • Motivating and mentor more junior members of the team by effective communication and constructive feedback.

What experience do I need?

Whilst having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:

  • ACA / ACCA part or fully qualified or QBE (minimum criteria).
  • Confident, articulate and an effective communicator at all levels (minimum criteria).
  • Well-presented and professional.
  • Team player with a flexible and proactive approach.
  • Excellent IT skills, knowledge of Sage 200 an advantage.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
