What do the team do?
Our Outsourcing department is rapidly evolving and has quadrupled in size over the past two years to meet the needs of its ever growing portfolio of clients. They typically work with moderately sized firms from a plethora of sectors that require our external expertise to do their bookkeeping and VAT returns, through to providing them with insightful management accounts.
We have a relationship centric approach and are trusted advisors to clients of all shapes and sizes, but they are typically owner managed businesses, giving you the opportunity to deal directly with the decision makers and to truly help shape the direction of their firm.
What will I be doing?
As an Outsourcing Assistant Manager you will have ownership of the following tasks:
- Managing team workflow and overseeing the delivery of outsourcing assignments on Xero, QuickBooks online and Sage line 50.
- Designing and implementing processes for each assignment and briefing team members.
- Preparing and reviewing monthly / quarterly management accounts.
- Reviewing bookkeeping work undertaken by junior staff.
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns.
- Assisting clients with VAT and tax investigations.
- Providing clients with forecasts and assisting in the compilation of budgets.
- Developing the team, including potential line management responsibilities.
What experience do I need?
Whilst having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA fully qualified or qualified by experience (minimum criteria).
- Experience of working in an accountancy practice, including some assignment management ideally (minimum criteria).
- Demonstrable experience of leading assignments and reviewing work.
- Significant experience of preparing management accounts, bookkeeping, VAT returns and forecasting.
- Experience using cloud based accounting systems.
- Client facing experience.
